Let's get some stats on how many employment-based green card applicants are from the state of California. Perhaps they are printed on a DOS, USCIS web site or report. I am sure the number is high (San Jose etc.)

i am not sure what it is about the 300d or known by most as the digital rebel that makes it not a good choice. i used and still use the digital rebel. i consider it to be worthy of professional status. it lacks a few capabilities but for studio work i still feel more comfortable with that camera and i must admit even though i have the rebel xt i have not used it near as much as the 300 d.
There are some things that make for example the 10D better than the 300D, but those are few - the one that made me spend the money on a 10D rather than the 300D is the fact that the 10D has the setting for following AF (aka predictive AF), whilst the 300D has a setting for "Let the camera choose if it's following or not" - which probably works fine for most purposes, but not ALL.
The metal frame of the body and faster/longer frame buffer on the 10D was also on the list of "pros", but not a "must have" in my choice.
The sensor is the same in 10D and 300D, and whilst the newer 350/400/20/30 etc have BETTER sensors, the 10D has one that works fine for me.

And just like a carpenter may choose to buy a more expensive circular saw because it lasts longer, cuts a little bit faster or whatever the criteria may be, I also know some that use the method of "buy the $100 model of tool, because it's undoubtedly going to be broken soon anyway, and the $600 one doesn't actually take falling from a 20ft scaffolding any better than the $100 one does". So, likewise, a professional photographer may well chose a less expensive camera because it does the job sufficently.

How does one go about canceling the pending EB2-NIW i-485 (possibly get the money back... will be glad to donate it all to IV :D:D)

Just a small glitch in your case.. when USCIS approves a case it automatically rejects any other pending application for 485.. infact it is a prerequisite for the AO to check this before the application can be approved. Surprised that in your case it did not happen.
BTW you did mention that your dependents got approved on your EB2 application and your got on EB1.. seems like USCIS went out of the way to accommodate and change the process in your case...well seems like you might end up getting naturalized in another month of so.. Lucky you...

Has anybody recently applied for a Schengen Visa, if yes, can you please let me know what you did for the travel insurance. The insurance from my employer (Humana) says they cover international but do not have a letter that states the same and Swedish consulate website says the letter should specifically say "International Coverage".

I have asked the client to remote work from India and they said I could for six months and re-evaluate at that point. I can get a three year extension based on my I-140 approval with my consulting company (no 485, dates not current) if my client applies for a H1. I am not sure if I should or apply for a different visa.
Can I ask the company extending me an offer to apply for H1 and then work from India for six months?

There is no need for you to have H-1B status if you are working in India. If you are not working in the US, you are not in any status and don't need any. You could return to the US in visitor status provided that you were not working here in the US. If you can explain to the consulate that you really intend just a short visit, even though you have permanent residence filed, you should get the B visa.
I'm assuming that you are from India and therefore don't need any visa to work in India.

Hi Folks, I have a question about traveling to India...
Want to travel from US to Indore, India. As I need to change planes either Mumbai or Delhi, how does it work?
1. I came to know that in Mumbai, it is just change of terminals, not airports. Am I right?
2. How about Delhi? Once I arrive at International airport in Delhi, to catch a domestic flight to Indore, is it change of airports or just change of terminals? Is there a shuttle provided?

@Mumbai...you get to the International Terminal and then depending on which domestic carrier you are flying with to Indore, most likely they will arrange for the shuttle to the Domestic Terminal. It is about a 10 min ride and you will have to pick up your luggage and go through customs/immigration before this. I know that Jet Airways (not sure about others) even checks in your bags at the Int'l terminal so you don't have to carry all that with you on the shuttle.
Having said that, if I were you I would definitely make sure that there is enough (at least 4 hrs, I feel) time between the two flights so you are not left running around gasping for breath! ;)

Yes, they take all copies - SSN, I797, passport everytime the license has to be renewed. More frustrating thing is they only issue a paper license which is valid only for 30 days and the card is mailed in 3-4 weeks from Tallahassee (State capital) after they perform immigration & background check. This paper license can't be used for ID purposes.
The 30-day paper license thing has been there since 2002, when I first applied. The "Temporary" label came I think about one and a half to two years back.

The OP poster was not scorning against the average american, I think you are mixing two issues up, I am sure he has done his share of charity work, and he probably sympathizes with families who don't have a job, I don't think you can direct your anger against him.
This is a capitalistic society not a communist or a socialist society, the market will/should balance itself out, new industries come up, people get hired, if the attitude of the people is protectionist, which it is, it stifles innovation and growth, which in turns stifles the growth of new companies, which in turn would have helped the folks laid off get a job. Being emotional is OK, but one must be pragmatic. That said, i believe charity begins at home, one must take care of its own kith and kin before extending arms to others.

No I am not Indian, but that still makes me a H1B and greencard aplicant. So please, Antis might dislike us but that does not make them racist and hatefull against only Indians, you are not the only ones in the boat...dont make Indians the only important people here.
Plus a lot of the antis are probably people who lost a job and are finding someone to point the finger at, not right, but understandable.
I have Amercian friends who went from a good middleclass family to now being on foodstamps and not knowing how to feed their kids the next day, they dont hate me but they are upset and frustrated and scared...
Fear drives people to find a black sheep but let us not jump in there too and start hating...
Sorry but I read many many messages on forums before I finally loose my patience with the Indians only messages...lets try to not segregate but work together.:mad:

I am in the same boat as you. My EAD expires on Sept 12th. Still no response from NSC center. I have few friends that I know, who filed after I did and they all have recieved their EADs. Not sure whats going on.

Is that all he said? I wonder why he did not say they should be screened for their skin color, their Shakespearean English and BTW all the applications of legal residents and naturalized Citizens here who are non Europeans ought to be revisited to ensure they fit the new criteria. Perhaps actually saying that would have been too politically incorrect.
This guy is unbelievably anti-immigrant. Even many anti-immigrants feel he is too far to their right on this issue. Him in the house and Sen. Jeff Sessions in the Senate cannot be changed. They are rather openly vile, vicious and virulent in their attack of any and all immigrants.............legal or illegal. That is why they are given so much airtime on CNN with Lou Dobbs.
The real irony of it all to me is that the ancestors of many of the Mexicans (albeit illegal) immigrants crossing the southern border are indigenous people of the Americas (the new world) like Mayans and Aztecs (atleast in part). His (Tancredo's) predecessors on the other hand are "invaders" like he terms todays immigrants. I wish one day his kind of people who seem like they feel America is their divine gift from god get asked this question in a public forum.
I have yet to meet 1 citizen who speaks Shakespearean English... it certainly won't be anyone on Fox!

If ur EB2 and PD older than Jan 01, 2004 probably you have chance to refile again. During this crunch time don't trust USPS/UPS. Always use fedex...
